Shari Blanchard is this year's recipient of the Department's Community Service Award.

Shari is the president of Upsilon Iota, the Honor Society for Communications majors.  This semester Upsilon Iota is busy with a number of charitable projects under Shari's direction.  In addition Shari spends spring break in the Mississippi Delta helping to build homes for families who lost theirs during Hurricane Katrina.  She volunteers as a teaching assistant at Coeyman's Elementary School and she donates her time to select, non profit organizations that need help with media productions.
